Pro-Gest will raise recycled containerboard prices
Italy's Pro-Gest Group has announced its intention to raise recycled containerboard prices. The firm plans to hike prices for brown grades by Euro 100/tonne ($131/tonne) from February 1. It also intends to increase white-top testliner prices by Euro 70/tonne. The group ascribed the planned hikes to rising recovered paper (RCP) prices driven by increased demand.
Pro-Gest added that further announcements for containerboard price increases are likely in the coming months if RCP demand and prices keep growing. Earlier this week, Hamburger Group, SCA and Europac announced similar plans to raise their recycled containerboard prices by Euro 70-100/tonne in 1Q. SCA is also set to increase its kraftliner prices by Euro 80/tonne from March 1.
