
History
1973
Founded in 1973, the oldest company of the Group, Trevikart S.r.l. supplies cardboard boxes to the most important industrial groups of Triveneto (North East Italy).
1984
Ondulato Trevigiano S.r.l. was set up as one of the first corrugating factories in the Veneto Region, manufacturing sheets of corrugated cardboard. From its launch the company distinguished itself by producing strong, high quality corrugated cardboard most often used for industrial packaging.
1985
The following year Plurionda S.p.A. was established in Zero Branco, near Treviso. It began trading in November 1988 and currently produces special micro-flute and triple-micro cardboard. In 2005, Plurionda expanded by starting production of N-flute corrugated cardboard, which is only 0.7 mm thick.
1987
In 1987 was established Unioncart S.r.l., specialised in the production of all sizes and colours of die-cut web boxes from corrugated cardboard.
1988 In 1988, the Group acquired Cartitalia S.r.l., a foremost paper producer, at a public auction. From the beginning, Cartitalia obtained excellent results and became a bench mark in its field. It allowed Pro-Gest to rationalise the production cycle from the ground up, going from packaging, to cardboard and finally through to paper.
1992
Cuboxal S.r.l. became part of the Zago family’s holding company in 1992. Specialising in producing and marketing pizza boxes that are exported worldwide. Cuboxal S.r.l. has become the European market leader in its field.
1996
In 1996, because of its positive experience when acquiring Cartitalia, the Group decided to add Cartiera di Carbonera S.r.l. paper factory to its assets. Bruno Zago had felt it was necessary to increase production of raw paper for the corrugating machines in order to strengthen its presence in the open market. Nowadays, thanks to substantial investments, this factory produces paper made mostly for front and back covers, high quality white and havana paper and tissue paper for domestic use. This company is acknowledged as being amongst the foremost manufacturers in Europe, both because of the number of metres it produces and for the quality of its paper.
1998
In 1998, the Pro-Gest Group underwent further expansion by buying the paper mills of Tolentino S.r.l. and San Giuliano S.r.l., both of which underwent refurbishment and reorganisation to bring them in-line with the European market.
2004
Since the acquisition of Bergapack S.r.l., in 2004, the Group plays an increasingly leading role in the production of corrugated cardboard packaging. This company, in fact, specialises in heavy duty packaging for use outdoors.
2005
In 2005, the Zago family became owner of two longrunning and prestigious plants producing paper - the Cartiera di Voghera S.r.l. (Pavia) and the Cartiere Villa Lagarina S.p.A., in the province of Trento. Both companies are strategically located. The first is situated in the midst of the largest markets for paper packaging in Italy, the second at the gateway to Central Europe, an ideal location for export.
2007
In 2007, 100 million euros were invested in the Cartiere Villa Lagarina S.p.A. to build a new paper-producing facility unique to Italy. This factory now manufactures both smooth and white packaging, weighing upwards of 75 gr. The same year World Cart, a company based in Cremona specialized in the production of tissue paper, toilet paper, kitchen towel, napkins and industrial rolls, was acquired by the Group.
2008
Cartiera di Cagliari became part of the Group. The paper mill, specialized in the production of tissue paper, undertook immediate re-organisation in order to meet the Sardinia internal market demand within a couple of years.
2009
In 2009 P-ONE was born. The company, specialising in the production of packaging, paper solutions, display materials, promotion-publicity supports, expositions and furniture, has created the first office furniture entirely made of cardboard in Italy. The same year the acquisition of Cartonstrong was made official. The company, based in Monza with over 100 employees, is a point of reference in the market of corrugated cardboard in Lombardy and in the North East of Italy.
2010 Ondulati Maranello Industrie Cartarie S.r.l., an important company in the packaging and cardboard sector with 225 employees, and Ondulati Galimberti, based in Carnate, Milan were acquired by the Group. These latest acquisitions pursue the strategic objective of further expanding the integrated production chain in Italy.
